Scott Weiland Dies At The Age Of 48

The voice behind Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, Scott Weiland, has passed away at the age of 48.

The rocker passed away in his sleep around 9:00pm Thursday, while on his tour bus in Minnesota. Weiland was currently on tour with his group the Wildabouts. The group was set to perform at the Medina Entertainment Center in Medina, Minnesota on Thursday night.

Weiland’s manager has confirmed the news, but has declined to confirm the cause of death.

Official social media posts have also shared the news of his death and at the end it includes “At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott’s family be respected.”

Weiland was born in San Jose, California and started his first band when he was 16 years old. He leaves behind his wife, Jamie Wachtel, and two children Lucy, 13, and Noah, 15.
